Automated driving technologies are developing rapidly. In the trucking domain, key on-road applications being demonstrated or considered for market use include platooning (i.e., two or more trucks electronically linked in a convoy); exit-to-exit (i.e., human driver alternates first and last miles with self-driving trucks on long limited access highway trips); and traffic jam assist, among others.
