Air traffic over the last few months has declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Overflow aircraft no longer being utilized to their full extent need to be parked. Many airports have facilities for parking overflow aircraft. The remote parking plans of airports should focus on safety, address the needs of various stakeholders, and be prepared through a collaborative process. This white paper presents best practices and recommendation for the temporary parking of overflow aircraft including identifying different parking options and considering pavement and structural considerations.
