Abstract:The U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory conducted
a data collection project for light-duty, alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) for
about 4 years. The project has collected data on 10 vehicle models (from the
original equipment manufacturers [OEM]), spanning model years 1991 through 1995.
Emissions data have also been collected from a number of vehicles that were
converted to operate on compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied petroleum
gas. This evaluation effort addressed the performance and reliability, fuel
economy, and emissions of light-duty AFVs, with comparisons to similar gasoline
vehicles when possible. 30p.
